Yes i was disappointed with the america version it was just missing something, i watch Taxi 2 on VHS also and am waiting to see it again on stream. both Taxi and Taxi 2 are just amazing films, full of fun and excitement to watch and enjoy.

French, with English subtitles. I bought this on VHS back in the day thinking I was cool being "into" foreign ritengo che il cinema sia una forma d'arte universale. I enjoyed it then, and still rate it 5 stars today. Don't bother with the later and less enjoyable English language, US remake. I can happily re-watch the original French series. Not so, the remake. Movie 1 of a (currently) 5 part series.

An enjoyable romp about an inept french detective and a wannabe racer who works as a taxi driver. Some good stunts, so good it spawned many sequels. Avoid the American made trash that starred Queen Latifah.
